Specialist Funeral Celebrant

When a loved one passes away, families are often led into a plethora of choices which need to be made. Burial or cremation? Service or no service? Religious or non-religious?This may be the first time you have arranged a funeral, a time of deep grief and the legalities which accompany death. I hear you, and you are not alone.Celebrants such as myself will work with you, listening to your requests and helping you to create a memorial service which is bespoke to you and your loved one, including all the things that made your loved one unique.Celebrants can work to a wide remit, including prayer, ritual and free spirit; whatever the situation calls for. We can also be in the space that is right for you; wherever a ceremony in a crematorium, burial site, natural woodland or the beach! Memorial services can be held in many places and can take place apart from a committal.

Regardless of the ceremony you wish to hold, it requires your celebrant to be able to apply wisdom, empathy, understanding and knowledge. This is but one part of your story, the other requires deep trust, feelings of safety, to know that you can celebrate the life of your loved one without fear. Understanding and knowledge help empower you to create a ceremony with security and confidence. You can rest assured that I am committed to inclusivity, no matter who you are, your background or beliefs, I will support you.

About Kym

I'm Kym, a dedicated funeral celebrant who aims to help you blend sacredness with love, humour with storytelling, embracing the laughter and the tears.I can do this because I have walked the road of loss from beginning to end. From working in a mortuary to working as a funeral arranger, helping to piece it all together when all you want to do is fall apart.I am a woman who is grounded yet has a wicked sense of humour. There may be a spot of Nos Lowen fun and bad singing on occasion. Nothing quite beats being out in nature and walking in my beautiful county, preferably with my dog in tow!

The Practical Side

Perhaps you have found me because a Funeral Director has recommended me, or maybe you have been proactively searching for a celebrant and have stumbled upon my site. Either way, thank you for reading about my services and I hope I will be of assistance to you.If you have found me without the input of your funeral director, and you wish to use my services, please let your director know.Once we have made first contact, I will arrange to meet you and any other family members who wish to be involved. Or perhaps a close friend has valuable insight you wish to include. At this time I will also be in close contact with your funeral director, making sure that everyone works together collaboratively to ensure the smooth running of the day.Your appointment can take place face-to-face, or virtually, whichever works best for you. During our time together we will chat about your loved one, so I can gather information about their life, and we can discuss how they, and you, want the service to unfold. Our time together is not time limited and if you have need to contact me again afterwards you can simply get in touch.Once I have all the information needed I will write the first draft of the service and send it to you via email, so that you can read through to check everything is in place and correct, before I create the final version. On the day of the service I will be there in good time to greet you as you arrive. I will conduct the service as we agreed, either in full or in part, should family or friends wish to be involved.Everyone is unique, their send off should be as well.
